
The ODA Leadership Institute is the ODA’s award-winning program that provides attendees an opportunity to build their leadership skills and learn about updates on issues important to dentistry in Ohio. More than 200 ODA members attend this yearly event which is FREE for all ODA members, dental students, and dental residents.

Dr. Canise Bean
Dr. Canise Bean is the chair of the Ohio Dental Association’s Subcouncil on Diversity and Inclusion and is a clinical professor at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in the Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry Division. Dr. Bean is a former member of the ADA’s Council on Communications, vice chair of the ODA’s Council on Dental Care Programs and Dental Practice, and chair of the ODA’s Subcommittee on Judicial Affairs. Dr. Bean is a member of the American Dental Education Association, International College of Dentists, National Dental Association, Pierre Fauchard Academy, Columbus Association of Dentists, and American Association of Women Dentists. She received her DDS from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry and an MS in Public Health from The Ohio State University.

Bob Blazer
Bob Blazer is a member of Government Solutions Group and represents the Ohio Dental Association as the association’s consulting lobbyist. Prior to joining Government Solutions Groups, he served as Vice President of Governmental Affairs for AT&T Ohio. He has over 38 years of experience with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio and the Ohio Legislature. He is a graduate of the University of Dayton.
Dr. Kyle Bogan

Dr. Kyle Bogan
Dr. Kyle Bogan is the treasurer of the Ohio Dental Association and is a general dentist in private practice in Delaware, Ohio and is also an author, speaker and practice consultant. He is a past president of the Columbus Dental Society, current chair of the ADA Council on Membership, and past chair of the ODA Council on Membership and Annual Session Committee. He is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and the International College of Dentists. Dr. Bogan earned his BS degree and his DDS degree from The Ohio State University.

Dr. Mark Bronson is the second vice president of the American Dental Association and is a general dentist in private practice from Cincinnati. He is a past president of the Ohio Dental Association and Cincinnati Dental Society and is a past chair of the ADA’s Council on Government Affairs and ODA’s Council on Dental Care Programs and Dental Practice. He is a member of the American College of Dentists and International College of Dentists. Dr. Bronson earned his DDS degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.
Dr. Manny Chopra

Dr. Manny Chopra
Dr. Manish Chopra is the vice president of the Ohio Dental Association and is a prosthodontist in private practice in Wilmington and Cincinnati, a dentist for military personnel at Complete Mobile Dentistry/Logistics Health International, and a volunteer dentist at Good Samaritan Hospital Free Health Center. He is a past president of the Cincinnati Dental Society, current vice chair of the ADA Council on Dental Practice, current chair of the ODA Council on Dental Care Programs and Dental Practice, and current trustee on the ODA Foundation Board of Trustees. He is a fellow of the International College of Dentists, American College of Dentists, Academy of Dentistry International, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Chopra earned his bachelor degree from Government Dental College and Hospital, his DMD degree from Washington University, and his Certificate in Prosthodontics from Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Joseph Crowley

Dr. Joseph Crowley
Dr. Joseph Crowley is a past president of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association and Cincinnati Dental Society. Currently, he serves as the ODA’s Member Advocate and Concierge Specialist consultant. He previously served as the ADA Seventh District Trustee, as a board member on the American Dental Political Action Committee, and as chair of the ADA Council on Government Affairs. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Xavier University and his DDS degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He is a past recipient of the ODA’s Distinguished Dentist Award, which was later named after him, and the ODA’s Achievement Award.
Dr. Kari Cunningham

Dr. Kari Cunningham is a pediatric dentist in private practice in Euclid and is an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and the Department of Community Dentistry at the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. She is a current member of the ODA’s Subcouncil on Diversity and Inclusion and Council on Access to Care and Public Service, and a past president of the Greater Cleveland Dental Society. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Cunningham received her BS degree from the University of Pittsburgh, her DMD degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine and her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine and Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland.
Dr. Paul Goodman

Dr. Paul Goodman
Dr. Paul Goodman is a dentist, transitions broker, buyer coach, speaker and influencer in the dental community and has been invited to present at a multitude of diverse dental events across the country. In 2017, Paul founded his company, Dental Nachos. It is a community that has grown to over 35,000 members and features a forum for dentists to connect with each other based on one rule only- spreading kindness. After creating Dental Nachos, Dr. Goodman was able to start his second company, Dentist Job Connect. It is a program committed to assisting dentists in their next career step. Dr. Goodman received his DMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Denise Hering

Dr. Denise Hering
Dr. Denise Hering is the speaker of the Ohio Dental Association’s House of Delegates and is a general dentist in private practice in Reynoldsburg and is also an assistant professor at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. She served as the ODA’s vice speaker of the House of Delegates from 2014-2017. She is a past president of the Columbus Dental Society, past chair of the ODA Dental Education and Licensure Committee, and a current member of the ODA’s Leadership Development Committee. She is Ohio’s Deputy Regent for the International College of Dentists and is a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the National Association of Parliamentarians. Dr. Hering earned her BS degree from Purdue University and her DDS degree from The Ohio State University.
Dr. Lori Fitzgerald

Dr. Lori Fitzgerald is the president-elect of the Ohio Dental Association and is a general dentist in practice in Canfield. She is a past president of the Corydon Palmer Dental Society, past chair of the ODA’s Annual Session Committee and Council on Membership Services. She is a fellow of the International College of Dentists and Pierre Fauchard Academy, and a member of the American Association of Women Dentists. Dr. Fitzgerald received her DDS degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Mike Graham

Mike Graham
Mike Graham has fought on Capitol Hill for issues important to organized dentistry for over 25 years – serving in various positions in the American Dental Association’s Washington Office. Currently, he is the ADA’s senior vice president of government and public affairs. In total he has over 40 years of government affairs experience in the federal and state legislative arenas. He has represented two other Associations; served as a gubernatorial appointee for two Maryland governors; worked for a U.S. Senator from Maryland; a Maryland Congressman; and a Maryland state representative. Mr. Graham received his bachelor’s degree from The Catholic University of America and his master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He retired as a commander in the United States Navy, following his service in Iraq.

Adam Hewit is president of Government Solutions Group and has represented the Ohio Dental Association for the past 15 years as the association’s consulting lobbyist. Prior to lobbying on behalf of the association, he was Minority Caucus Director for the Ohio House of Representatives. Mr. Hewit is a graduate of Kent State University.
Dr. Thomas Kelly

Dr. Thomas Kelly is the president of the Ohio Dental Association and is a general dentist in private practice in Beachwood. He is a past president of the Greater Cleveland Dental Society, past chair of the ADA’s Council on Membership, past chair of the ODA’s Council on Membership Services, past chair of the ODA’s Finance Committee, and current member of the ODA Wellness Trust Board of Trustees and ODA Finance Committee. He is a member of the International College of Dentists and American College of Dentists. Dr. Kelly earned his BS degree from St. Lawrence University and his DDS degree from Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. David Kimberly

Dr. David Kimberly is the immediate past president of the Ohio Dental Association and is an oral surgeon in private practice in Akron. He is a past president of the Akron Dental Society and past chair of the ODA’s Council on Dental Care Programs and Dental Practice and Ethics Subcommittee. He is a member of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, International College of Dentists and American College of Surgeons. Dr. Kimberly received his bachelor’s degree and DDS degree from the Case Western Reserve University and his MD degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine.
