ODA Annual Session is a great value for new dentists

This year at Annual Session, new dentists will have the opportunity to earn up to 19 hours of CE for just $140, which includes the Annual Session registration fee, if registered by Aug. 2.

Several CE courses and Table Clinics are offered at no cost to Ohio Dental Association member dentists, and one course has a discounted registration fee for dentists in practice for 10 years or less.

In order to take advantage of this opportunity, new dentists should register to attend the following schedule of courses:

THURSDAY, SEPT. 19

• 10 a.m. to noon: Practical Strategies for Risk Issues in the Dental Practice, presented by Theodore Passineau, JD, HRM, RPLU. Attendees will earn 2 CE hours in category A. This course is free to ODA members. Course Code: T21. Find out more about this course by clicking here.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 20

SATURDAY, SEPT. 21

• 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Table Clinics, presented in the Exhibit Hall. Attendees can earn up to 2 CE hours in category G. Table Clinics are free with Annual Session registration fee and tickets are automatically provided.

• 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Ohio Academy of Periodontists Panel 2013, presented by Capt. Andrew Baker, DDS, MS; Russell T. Thaler, DMD, MS; Ryan Harris, DMD, MS. Attendees will earn 3 CE hours in category A. This course is free to ODA members. Presentations include: The Links Between Oral Health, Systemic Health, and Patient Motivation; The Role of a Specialist in a General Practice; and Contemporary Soft Tissue Allografting. SUNDAY, SEPT. 22

Annual Session will also feature a track of courses geared toward dentists in practice for 10 years or less. Courses in the track are: The Rules of Business to Reach Total Practice Success Part 1 Leadership, The Rules of Business to Reach Total Practice Success Part 2 Management, Restorative Materials Update 2013, X-treme Prevention, New Marketing Musts: What Really Attracts & Retains Patients Through Online Strategies, Back to Basics: Ritz Carlton Style and Contemporary Restoration Trends: Hot Syncing Your Dental Knowledge.

All dentists out of dental school 10 years or less are also invited to attend the New Dentist Reception. The reception, sponsored by the Ohio Dental Political Action Committee (ODPAC), will be from 8 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 at Bar Louie. This event is free, but registration is required using event code E92.
