The 2023 ODA Annual Session is Sept. 21-23 in Columbus, Ohio and will feature CE for the entire dental team, an expansive Exhibit Hall and fun social events. Courses are filling fast, so be sure to register today to reserve your spot.

The 2023 ODA Annual Session schedule is loaded with outstanding lectures, workshops, special events and opportunities to reconnect with peers and colleagues.

Continuing Education

Dentists and their teams can choose from 45 different live CE courses, plus receive access to up to 26 hours of online CE, free with the cost of registration. These courses can help dentists and team members meet their CE requirements as the end of the licensure biennium approaches on Dec. 31, 2023.

Free online courses include:

  • Radiography review.
  • OSHA exposure control training.
  • Opioid CE.
  • OHASP course (note: the same course was also offered at last year’s Annual Session and only counts for CE credit once during the biennium).

Online CE will be available Sept. 25-Dec. 31, 2023.

DEA education

The 2023 ODA Annual Session offers several courses to help dentists meet the DEA opioid training requirement. All DEA-registered practitioners who renew their DEA registration on or after June 27, 2023 must complete eight hours of training on treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders.

An 8-hour course will be presented before the official start of the ODA Annual Session on Wednesday, Sept. 20, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Presented by Thomas A. Viola, R.Ph., CCP and ODA staff member Chris Moore. This presentation meets both the DEA and OSDB opioid training requirement. Lunch will be provided.

Other courses offered throughout Annual Session and online also meet the DEA’s requirements.

Exhibit Hall

The 2023 ODA Annual Session will also feature an expansive Exhibit Hall with more than 150 vendors. Major dental suppliers on-site include Benco, Patterson, Henry Schein and Safco.

New this year, the Exhibit Hall will feature a Manufacturer’s Showcase. The Manufacturer’s Showcase allows companies to easily demonstrate and provide educational Q&A about their specific products. Attendees have the opportunity to touch, feel and experience everything from various dental materials, equipment and products.

In addition to comparison shopping, the Exhibit Hall will feature chances to win prizes each day and special events.

  • Hops & Shops from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21. Free central Ohio craft beers and snacks hosted by participating exhibitors!
  • Free Lunch! From 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22. Receive two $10 vouchers to be used at concession pop-up stations throughout the Exhibit Hall. Support provided by OhioDDS and Safco.
  • Table Clinics from 12 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22. Earn up to 2 hours of free CE by attending the Table Clinics. Sponsored by the ODA Dental Education and Licensure Committee.
  • Dark Roast and Donuts from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23. Enjoy coffee and donuts on us!

In-person Exhibit Hall Hours:

  • Friday, Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
