New requirements for controlled substance prescriptions go into effect

The Ohio Board of Pharmacy recently adopted new rules requiring prescribers to include a diagnosis or procedure code and indicate the days' supply on certain prescriptions. Beginning on Dec. 29, dentists must include a procedure code (CDT Code) on all opioid prescriptions, as well as indicate the days’ supply on all controlled substance prescriptions.
