2022 Callahan Celebration of Excellence
Honoring Dr. Thomas Kelly
Established in 1920, the Callahan Award is an international honor named for Dr. John Ross Callahan that recognizes outstanding contributions to dentistry. The ODA Awards of Excellence recognize Ohio dentists and others who have made exemplary efforts on behalf of the profession.
The awards include the presentation of the ODA’s highest honor, the Joseph P. Crowley Distinguished Dentist Award, as well as the Achievement Award, the Marvin Fisk Humanitarian Award, and the N. Wayne Hiatt Rising Star Award.

2022 Callahan Award
Dr. Domenick T. Zero
Dr. Domenick Zero has lectured and done clinical research on almost every aspect of cariology. In recognition of his efforts, he will receive the 2022 Ohio Dental Association Callahan Memorial Award on Friday, Sept. 16 at the Callahan Celebration of Excellence, held in conjunction with the 156th ODA Annual Session. Joseph P. Crowley Distinguished Dentist Award
Dr. Thomas Matanzo
Dr. Thomas Matanzo has been involved in organized dentistry throughout his career. In recognition of his efforts he will receive the 2022 Ohio Dental Association Joseph P. Crowley Distinguished Dentist Award on Friday, Sept. 16 at the Callahan Celebration of Excellence, held in conjunction with the 156th ODA Annual Session. (continued)
Achievement Award
Dr. Kenneth C. Brandt
Dr. Ken Brandt has been involved with organized dentistry for over 40 years and was instrumental in creating and maintaining a program to help veterans in need of dental care. In recognition of his efforts, he will receive the Ohio Dental Association Achievement Award on Friday, Sept. 16 at the Callahan Celebration of Excellence, held in conjunction with the 156th ODA Annual Session. Ms. Marla Morse
Marla Morse, program director for Oral Health Ohio (OHO), is a leader and advocate for improving oral health in Ohio. In recognition of her efforts, she will receive the Ohio Dental Association Achievement Award on Friday, Sept. 16 at the Callahan Celebration of Excellence, held in conjunction with the 156th ODA Annual Session. Dr. Jennifer Kale
Dr. Jennifer Kale is dedicated to providing care and guidance for the underserved community. In recognition of her efforts, she will receive the Ohio Dental Association Marvin Fisk Humanitarian Award on Friday, Sept. 16 at the Callahan Celebration of Excellence, held in conjunction with the 156th ODA Annual Session. Dr. Natasha K. Sheridan
As a new dentist, Dr. Natasha Sheridan has been active in organized dentistry at the local and state level. In recognition of her efforts, she will receive the Ohio Dental Association N.
